Hi there.
So here's a story. Please advise.
I have a small JDM vehicle that is giving a few issues.
When I switch on AC during idling, it switches on fine and vent air starts becoming cold.
As soon as I put the transmission in D or R, I can feel and hear compressor disengaging and the high speed condenser/radiator fan turning off, and vent air starts becoming warmer. At the same time engine rpm drops to normal idle rpm.
Then compressor and condenser fans start again and all back to normal. But then as soon as I begin lifting my foot off the brake, the AC switching off routine begins again.
If I have transmission in N, and I just push the brakes or take my foot off of it, then it repeats just as above. And while all this happens, I can feel the vent air beginning to warm up again.
Also, I don’t know if this is also related to the issue of compressor cycling off and on while vent temps fall down to 10°c. Then it comes on again when vent temp again rises to around 12°c.
Low side pressures are 45psi (38-40°c ambient).
High side is around 280psi
Vehicle has climate control. Though this behaviour is when temp is set at lowest 18°c manually. I haven't checked if I can reproduce it on auto mode.
I need a fix to keep vent temps down in this heat, i.e. keep compressor engaged. What do you suggest
