Traffic Police of Lahore has finally decided to take stern action against fancy and illegal number plates in the city. The police will not only take strict action against the users of illicit number plates but will also take extreme action against the maker of such plates.
An awareness campaign will also be launched with the collaboration between Lahore City Traffic Police and Excise teams in the city to aware people regarding the severity of the issue.

The decision to go after illegal number plates was taken at a meeting chaired by CCPO Lahore Ameen Wains and was attended by senior police and traffic police officials. Aside from taking action against illegal or phony number plates, the officials will also take harsh measurements against vehicles without proper documentation.
According to the CCPO, these actions have been initiated to curb terrorism in the city as many vehicles used in terrorist activities had illegal or fancy number plates. CTO Rai Ijaz asserted traffic police would take all necessary steps to assist the citizens. Moreover, CTO also advised the public to obtain legal number plates from the Excise Department as soon as possible. He further said that citizens who don’t act by the law would not be tolerated in any manner whatsoever.
