Honda Launches 3 New Electric Cars in China

Honda reveals three new electric vehicles in China at the Beijing Auto Show under the badging of Ye Series which includes two new models the Ye P7 and Ye S7 along with the concept model Ye GT. Honda aims to expand its EV series with a plan to introduce a total of six models in China by 2027. All these new vehicles feature the latest ‘H’ logo, a borderless and flattened design hinting towards its EV technology.

The Japanese automaker explained that the design concept of Ye models is based on MM i.e., man Maximum and Machine Minimum concept which is focused towards ‘joy of driving’.

Ye P7

The Ye Series reflects the philosophy of ‘shine brilliantly’. It is designed on a recently launched EV platform aimed to enhance driving experience, comfort level, along with the integration of AI-powered assistance. Honda has planned to offer this model in two configurations: single motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor rear-wheel drive.

Ye S7

The S7 crossover along with P7 are the first models launched in this new electric car series and will follow the same strategy of spacious interior and intelligent driving assistance. While the OEM claims that both of these designs offer “sporty and crispy handling” along with a responsive attitude in comparison to the former models. Both these vehicles will go on sale later this year.

Ye GT

The Ye GT concept is a grand touring EV car built on the same platform but carries a low profile same as “race driver driving position”. However, it includes dynamic design appeal, enjoyable riding experience, and innovative passenger-centric display that is bound to create a theatre-like experience. It targets to hot roads by the end of 2025. Honda has not much revealed about the interior and powertrains yet.

These new generation of EVs lead Honda towards achieving its target of carbon neutrality by 2050. For which capturing the progressive Chinese market is a milestone yet to be achieved.
