Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited (HACPL) has finally launched the facelift version of its compact crossover SUV BR-V at a launch event held at Royal Palm Golf and Country Club, Lahore on 12th October 2019.

For over the last 15 days, the auto manufacturer has been releasing several teasers for its customers for something new coming their way. As expected, it was the BR-V facelift version that the company has revealed in its launch event in Lahore. However, very few changes in BR-V were expected from Honda Atlas, but surprisingly, that’s not the case. The Japanese auto giant has come up with various changes in the design as well as features under the skin of BR-V. Honda Atlas is one of those major auto manufacturers in the country which is yet to provide the basic safety feature of airbags in its iconic City model. On this occasion, the company has equipped its facelift model of BR-V with several safety features. On the other hand, the company had already started taking bookings of this model at a revised price a few days ago. It is imperative to mention here that the auto manufacturer has introduced BR-V facelift in only two variants, i.e., one manual and one CVT. Previously, BR-V was available in three variants, i.e., one manual and two CVT trims. The compact SUV is the same in terms of engine and transmission, whereas all the changes have been made to the exterior and interior of the vehicle with some added features.

Both the variants are equipped with the same 4-cylinder 1.5-liter SOHC i-VTEC engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or continuously variable transmission (CVT). The 1497 cc powered BR-V has an electronic fuel injection system, and its engine can produce a maximum output power of 88 kW at 6600 rpm and a maximum torque of 145 Nm. The compact SUV has front ventilated disc brakes along with rear drum brakes.

Now let’s have a look at the new features introduced by Honda Atlas in its BR-V as 2019 facelift model. The changes made in the respective variants of BR-V will be mentioned later in this story.

The vehicle can be booked for PKR 1 million with a delivery time of one month, according to the company. Moreover, all the authorized dealerships of Honda will remain open on Sunday to facilitate customers. Nonetheless, the automaker has made several changes to the new BR-V, which was not anticipated for the last few days. The introduction of several safety features in the vehicle is a welcome addition as the consumers want more such features in the Honda cars in Pakistan. On the other hand, the sales of BR-V are down significantly, like all other locally manufactured vehicles in the country. It will be interesting to see if the introduction of the facelift version of BR-V helps in raising the sales of the vehicle. Agreed! It is an MPV. It is NOT a SUV except in poor man’s dreams.

  5. Hasan says

BR-V started life as Honda Mobilio MPV, then some clever marketing guys decided that with ample plastic garnishing we they could turn it into a crossover. I personally feel that for a car that shares it’s underpinnings with the City it is a reasonably accomplished, if somewhat, oddly proportioned package. As usual the put-off is Atlas-Honda marketing, which thinks very low of the average IQ of Pakistani car buyers and enthusiasts.

Honda can also call it a space ship. That does not make it a space ship
