Launched in 1948 by the British, Land Rover is popular for its tough and highly practical 4x4 models. Initially inspired by military design, the first produced car was the Land Rover Series I. Later, the Land Rover Series II was launched and production started in 1961. After collaboration with another British company, the British Leyland, Land Rover 4x4 introduced their first sub-brand, the Range Rover. The next big hit by the company was the Land Rover Defender, which came out in 1983. Also known as the Land Rover 90 and Land Rover 110 series, which has also been a very popular and significant Land Rover in Pakistan. It is still being used by the Military in Pakistan. Eventually the Land Rover was bought by the popular Indian company, Tata Motors under which the new generation Land Rovers, Range Rovers, and an all-new Range Rover Evoque was launched. Sigma Motors was established in 1994 which is the only authorized representative and dealer of brand new Land Rover in Pakistan. The Land Rover 2015 prices in Pakistan are estimated to start from 5 million PKR and go all the way up to 33 million PKR for the most expensive models, which can go further up if additional options and features are added. Land Rover price in Pakistan is very high due to the import regulations in Pakistan and it has significantly increased as compared to the Land Rover price in 2014. The Land Rover models in Pakistan are the Defender, Freelander 2, Discovery 4, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Sport and the Range Rover Vogue (now only known as the Range Rover). All the models offered by Sigma Motors are the Land Rover imported models, except the Land Rover Defender which is being locally produced at a small scale in Karachi, Pakistan, that’s the reason the Defender costs much less than the other Land Rover models.
