I am actually an engineer myself, and designed and installed the existing setup on my own. Just wanted to know the costs for upgrading to net metering.
Anyhow, as I said, the panels are old, they are 270W each, a total of 9 panels. The current system voltage is I guess, at around 120V, 3 sets of panels in parallel, each producing around 40V, in turn added in series. There is a circuit breaker installed with the panels, I think it was 60 Amps, don't remember correctly, will have to go and check again. One circuit breaker at AC input and a few different circuit breakers at output of the inverter, for different appliances. Will have to see if it is feasible after a redo of the system though. Would need grounding/lightning protection I guess.
