Atlas Honda profits up by 17 percent

One of Pakistan’s most prominent bike manufacturer Atlas Honda posted a profit of PKR 1.17 billion in the third quarter which ended in December 2017. According to the notice which the company sent to Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), its profit rises by 17 percent in the Q3 ended in December, when compared to the same period in the previous year. The company earned PKR 1bn in Q3 of 2016, and in the same period of 2017, it has made PKR 1.17 billion. Moreover, the earning per share, when comparing Q3 of 2017 and 2016, has risen to PKR 11.32 from PKR 9.68.

It would be worth mentioning here that the company sold 1,046,428 units of bikes last year (Jan-Dec 2017), which is way above compared to its local competitors. Furthermore, Atlas Honda earned a profit of PKR 3.41 billion in the nine month period which also ended in December 2017, and if we compare the nine-month period of 2016 and 2017, then its profit has jumped to 25.83 percent, the company earned PKR 2.71 billion in the nine-month period of 2016.

The company has also jacked up the prices of its 100cc and 125cc bike models by PKR 500 and 1000 respectively. Below is the updated price of bikes.

  • Honda CG-125 new price (PKR 107,500) old price (PKR 106,500) 1000/-PKR increase in price
  • Honda CG-125 Deluxe new price (PKR 126,500) old price (PKR 125,500) 1000/-PKR increase in price
  • Honda Pridor 100cc new price (PKR 87,000) old price (PKR 86,500) 500/-PKR increase in price

Lastly, Honda Atlas Pakistan Limited (Honda car assemblers) also posted their net profit for 9 months of 2017 (April-Dec). And according to the company, it gained a net profit of PKR 5.12 billion.
